yet hold to the black,
and become a model for the world.
As a model for the world,
your eternal virtue will never fail you,
and you will return to the boundless.

Know glory,
yet hold to disgrace,
and become a valley for the world.
As a valley for the world,
your eternal virtue will be abundant,
and you will return to the simplicity of the uncarved block.

When the uncarved block is divided,
it becomes an instrument.
The sage who wields simplicity
becomes the master of all.
Thus, the greatest mastery does not divide.
