The highest good is like water.
Water nourishes the ten thousand things,
yet it does not strive.
It dwells in places men despise,
and so it is close to the Way.

In dwelling, stay grounded.
In heart, go deep.
In giving, be kind.
In speech, be true.
In governing, bring order.
In work, be capable.
In action, be timely.

Only by lack of striving
is one free from blame.
