Emerging into life, we enter the realm of death.
Of every ten people, three follow life;
three follow death;
and three, in living,
only rush toward death.
Why is this so?
Because they cling to life too intensely.
I have heard that those who truly nurture life
walk the land without meeting rhino or tiger,
and enter battle without need of armor or weapon.
The rhino finds no place to thrust its horn,
the tiger no place to sink its claws,
the weapon no place to pierce with its blade.
Why is this so?
Because in them, there is no place for death to enter.
