Still Heart Studios LLC (“Still Heart Studios,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the
Wu Wei mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains
what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices
and rights you have. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use the App.
1. Who we are
Still Heart Studios LLC is the controller responsible for your personal information.
- App: Wu Wei
- Contact: contactstillheartstudios@gmail.com
2. Information we collect
We try to collect only what the App needs to work. We collect the following
categories of information to enhance your user experience:
a. Information you provide directly
- Account information — when you create an account, we collect your email address and a password. Passwords are handled and stored by our
authentication provider (Google Firebase Authentication); we never see or store
your password in plain text. - Profile details — a pronoun preference for customizing your quotes.
- Your content — the journal / reflection entries you write, highlights
or passages you save, and favorites you mark. This content may be stored on
your device and synced to our cloud so it is available across your sessions and
devices. Journal entries can be personal and reflective in nature; we treat them
as private to your account. - Preferences — settings such as dark mode, reminder times, and selected
background scenes.
b. Information collected automatically
- Usage and listening activity — which tracks and sessions you play, how many
minutes you listen, and meditation/breathing practice activity. We use this to
operate features (e.g., resume where you left off), to understand which content
is valued, and to improve recommendations and the App. - Device and technical information — device model, operating system version,
App version, language, time zone (used to schedule your reminders), and
diagnostic, performance, or crash data. - Approximate location — we do not collect GPS or precise location. Our
service providers may infer a coarse, approximate region from your IP address for
security and analytics purposes.
We use Google Firebase Analytics to collect aggregated and event-level usage
data of this kind.
c. Purchase information
- If you buy a subscription, the purchase is processed by Apple App Store or
Google Play, and subscription status is managed through RevenueCat. We
receive your subscription/entitlement status and a purchase identifier. We do
not receive or store your full payment card number — that is handled by the
app store.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- create and manage your account and authenticate you;
- store and sync your journal entries, highlights, favorites, and preferences;
- deliver audio, video, and meditation content (including via secure, temporary
download links); - send the local reminders you opt into;
- provide, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the App;
- understand usage trends and which content is helpful, in order to improve our
library and recommendations; - process and validate subscriptions and entitlements;
- detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or technical issues; and
- comply with legal obligations.
Legal bases (for users in the EEA/UK)
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on these legal bases: performance of a contract
(to provide the App and your account), legitimate interests (to secure and
improve the App, and understand usage), consent (e.g., for optional reminders
or where required for analytics), and compliance with legal obligations.
4. How your information is shared
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for
cross-context behavioral advertising. The App contains no advertising networks.
We share information only with service providers (“sub-processors”) who process it
on our behalf to run the App:
| Provider | Purpose | What they receive |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, Analytics) | Account login, cloud storage of your data, backend logic, usage analytics | Account info, your synced content, usage and device data |
| Google Fonts | Loads typefaces used in the App | Technical request data (e.g., IP address) when fonts are fetched |
| Cloudflare R2 | Hosting and delivery of audio content | Technical request data when audio is streamed/downloaded |
| RevenueCat | Subscription management | Purchase/entitlement status and a purchase identifier |
| Apple App Store / Google Play | Payment processing and app distribution | Payment and account data you provide to the store |
We may also disclose information if required to do so by law, or to protect the
rights, property, or safety of our users, the public, or Still Heart Studios LLC;
and in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (you will be
notified of any such change in ownership of your data).
5. Data retention
We keep your account information and content for as long as your account is active.
If you delete your account, we delete your associated account document and listening
statistics from our cloud database. Aggregated or de-identified analytics that can
no longer be linked to you may be retained. Backups and provider logs may persist
for a limited period before being overwritten. Some information may be retained
where required to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.
6. How to delete your account and data
You can delete your Living in Wu Wei account and its associated data at any time, using either method below.
Option 1 — In the app (fastest):
- Open Living in Wu Wei.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Delete Account (“Permanently remove your account and data”).
- Confirm on the “Delete your account?” prompt. You may be asked to re-enter your password to confirm it’s you.
This permanently removes your account and associated cloud data, returns you to the sign-in screen, and clears any downloaded audio and personal data on the device.
Option 2 — By email: If you can no longer open the app (for example, you uninstalled it), email contactstillheartstudios@gmail.com from the address associated with your account, with the subject “Delete my account.” We will verify the request and delete your account and associated data within 30 days.
What is deleted: your account and login credentials (email), your journal / reflection entries, your saved highlights and favorites, your preferences, and your listening statistics.
What is kept, and for how long: active-database records are deleted immediately (or within 30 days for an email request); residual copies in encrypted backups are purged on a rolling basis within 30 days; aggregated or anonymized analytics that can no longer be linked to you may be retained; and we may retain limited information where required to comply with legal obligations.
Deleting only some data (without deleting your account): you can delete an individual reflection from within the entry, remove all reflections via Settings → Delete all reflections, or remove all highlights via Settings → Delete all highlights. For any other data-deletion request, email contactstillheartstudios@gmail.com.
7. Your choices and rights
- Access and edit — you can view and edit your journal entries, highlights,
favorites, and preferences within the App. - Delete your account — you can delete your account from within the App’s
settings, which removes your associated cloud data as described above. You may
also email us to request deletion. - Reminders — you can turn local reminder notifications on or off at any time in
the App or your device settings.
Additional rights (EEA/UK – GDPR)
If you are in the EEA or UK, you have the right to access, correct, delete,
restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, the right to data
portability, and the right to withdraw consent. You may also lodge a complaint with
your local data protection authority. To exercise these rights, contact us at
contactstillheartstudios@gmail.com.
Additional rights (California – CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal
information we collect and how we use and disclose it, the right to request access
to and deletion of your personal information, the right to correct inaccurate
information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your
rights. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are
defined under California law. To exercise these rights, contact us at
contactstillheartstudios@gmail.com.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights, and we may
need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information,
including encryption in transit, authenticated access, and reputable cloud
infrastructure (Google Firebase and Cloudflare). No method of transmission or
storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a
strong, unique password and keep it confidential.
9. International data transfers
We and our service providers may process and store your information in the United
States and other countries where our providers operate. These countries may have
data protection laws different from those in your country. Where required, we rely
on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for international
transfers.
10. Children’s privacy
The App is intended for a general audience and may be used by people of all ages,
but it is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect
personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If
you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us with
personal information without your consent, please contact us at
contactstillheartstudios@gmail.com and we will delete it. Where we knowingly allow a
child to use the App, a parent or guardian should review this Policy and supervise
that use.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes,
we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide
additional notice within the App. Your continued use of the App after an update
means you accept the revised Policy.
12. Governing law
This Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without
regard to its conflict-of-laws principles, except where mandatory local consumer or
data-protection laws apply to you.
