Act through non-action;
work without interference;
taste the tasteless.
Regard the small as great,
the few as many.
Repay resentment with virtue.
Approach the difficult while it is still easy;
accomplish the great through the small.
All difficult things under heaven begin in ease;
all great things under heaven begin in the small.
Thus the sage does not pursue greatness,
and so greatness arrives.
Those who promise lightly are rarely trusted;
those who take things too lightly
soon encounter great difficulty.
Therefore, the sage regards things as difficult,
and in this way finds nothing difficult.
