Those who know do not speak;
those who speak do not know.

Guard your senses,
close your gates,
dull your sharpness,
untie your knots,
soften your brightness,
and merge with the dust.
This is called the profound union.

One who has attained this state
is beyond being embraced or estranged,
beyond being helped or harmed,
beyond being honored or disgraced.
Therefore, they are treasured by all under heaven.
